Chittiram Pesudhadi -- About the violence of love ?

With less than a handful of technicians u know , and a shoe-string budget, all u could expect was a low profile love story that has a very low probabilty of enticing your taste buds .

But bang!!! director mishkin takes your heart for a ride on a few occassions . He just gives you the movie that is least hyped about and this believe it or not works for the movie . The movie goes at a good speed but keeps a low profile throughout except on a couple of occassions , where the screenplay peaks and so do you inevitably. The director had immense guts to break free from the usual image oriented movies that come out every alternate day and even break the shackles when it comes to parent sentiment .

I am not gonna be a spoilsport to spill the beans over to narrate the story . I want most of u to go throught the roller coster ride that i went through last night ( after watching the movie ) .

Now to sum up the artists who infuenced me hard that i wouldnt think twice to revere them . I wont be relentless to mention the director after the lead , cuz they say that the director is the captain of the ship and this ship has coasted safely and impressively too . He has in him the adept mind that is inexorable to a narrator . He makes the audience dance to his tunes. Then the lead pair narain ( aka sunil in malayalam ) and bhavana ( malayali too ) . They seem to have a good head on shoulders to carry this script neatly ( this is nothing new as we have seen that people from Kerala seem to have the natural talent that makes them get noticed wherever they go) . Narain and bhavana epitomise their respective characters , and makes you feel that they are THE best choice . The music director Sundar C Babu , proves his mettle with a duet and in-tune-with-movie kinda rerecording. Then its the camera work by Mahesh , who gives the whole movie the feel required and the picturisation of the duet is worth a mention.

The climax as to reveal the real narain was simply breathtaking . The movie ends though in a cliche format that kollywood has perfected over the years .

With all this with a good script and narration Chittiram Pesudhadi is a undoubted winner , but the crowds throng the theatres for the one and only song( topping any countdown ) by GANA ULAGANATHAN , without a reference to whom i cant write a review. He is the only reason the crowds thronged in and but Mishkin has taken ample care to see that people dont get just that .

paradox of life

Life has always been an oxymoron to me . But offlate it seems to be peaking . I just saw a packaged tour on CNN IBN about the adventure tourism of New Zealand organizing a couple of amazing tour iterinaries. Went online and checked the price and the plan came upto 40k , so was already contemplating it . Life had just taked me to the helm of imagination when this foto u see , slapped me hard .

I at one end am think of splurging upto half a lakh when that money can just feed a lakh children for a day . This is something thats been in my mind for quite some time as to where do i draw a line b/n the 2 .

I strongly feel that poverty during the youth is cruicification. Ur mind cant accept ur inabilties of being under normal . U see hedonistic life style on one side and on the other u struggle for a meal per day . Its like the mirror which u can see but cant have a solid form .

All u can do is curse God for having made this big a bias on different people, and claiming that all are his children. Its only the disbelief in God that would get better of u .

i think we should have reservations

I think we should have job reservations in all the fields. I
completely support the PM and all the politicians for promoting this.
Let's
start the reservation with our cricket team. We should have 10 percent
reservation for muslims. 30 percent for OBC, SC/ST like that. Cricket
rules
should be modified accordingly. The boundary circle should be reduced
for an SC/ST player. The four hit by an OBC player should be considered
as a six and a six hit by a OBC player should be counted as 8 runs. An
OBC player scoring 60 runs should be declared as a century.

We should influence ICC and make rules so that the pace bowlers like
Shoaib Akhtar should not bowl fast balls to our OBC player. Bowlers
should bowl maximum speed of 80 kilometer per hour to an OBC player.
Any
delivery above this speed should be made illegal.

Also we should have reservation in Olympics. In the 100 meters race, an
OBC player should be given a gold medal if he runs 80 meters.

There can be reservation in Government jobs also. Let's recruit" - MITR

Devathai Kandaen

My cable TV just aired this movie today afternoon. I generally avoid watching dhanush movies after "sullan" which explored new potentials in me in terms of patience .Well sitting through sullan , i would still consider one of my most relished accomplishments. I even purportedly obviated this movie( though i had seen the 100 days poster in Udhayam theatre) when it was put on Sun TV , cuz i knew it would again one of those let downs that dhanush is known to give offlate.

But believe me , i was surprised as i continued to sit back watching the entire movie.I some how like the essence of the movie and the plot per se. The story in a nutshell , Babu an orphan who goes around selling tea , and a college gal Uma fall in love due to circumstantial twists. But she moves ahead in life to realise that this wont be possible to go ahead with the relation , and opts to marry an NRI. Dejected Babu files a suit against her and finally when she gets to know of what actually Babu means to her she decides to marry him , but he refuses and gives a set of reasons for it.

Now i ll start with the elements that made me like the movie . I basically liked the characterisation in the movie . I wouldnt have been able to accept the concept if Babu wasnt an orphan and the dialogue where he says that its like being taken from an orphan and into a relation and then being dropped back to an orphan again , is the most painful journey. Dhanush to me emoted awell and fits in the role that looks tailor-made for him . Looks like a normal guy u would see on the streets selling tea.
The film has its own share of glitches , that is to be taken(sportively) as a part and parcel of today's commercial movies . I was irritated with the scene wheren he is drunk and tries to suicide during the valentine's day party. It was a neat movie which had its roots in human sentiments and tries to delineate why you should consider all options before you jump to a conclusion.Even Uma's character reflects today's youth who jump to decisions and then rue over it . It has good dialogues and over all i feel this film which is watchable once if u are able to put urself in the protagonist's shoes .
Not to forget the comedy in the first half in the form of 4 ppl chasing and knitting plans to woo the girl is rib tickling .

Why i liked the movie so , much even i dont know . My be the dialogues that stand apart from the usual punch dialogues that i am daily fed with . I even liked a couple of songs .From the azhagey bramhanidam , to ungappa pathalum bayam

P.S I dont write reviews cuz i watch movies by heart dont try to ask a lot questions. I go through the motions of the movie and enjoy it .

"Karthik"

If u were one of those guys who were kinda perturbed about what would happen to music directors who have great tunes but won't have a singer as versatile as S.P.B (S.P.Balasubramanium) in the future , can have a breather. This guy from chennnai seems all prepared to take over from SPB left and deservedly so.Yeah, this may be hard to believe. You may even say that i have decided a little too early , but not after u have listened to his voice taking songs of diverse backgrounds going straight to ur brain, signalling u to close ur eyes.
He was introduced by ARR in STAR ( a prashanth starrer) where he sounded no diffferent from recent crop of young singers . But shot to immediate stardom when he sang for the Superstar's BABA (again composed by ARR).

Now when u find most of the singers drenched in the showers of the past fame and losing their future projects , u saw karthik being prudent enough not to commit this , and sang for all leading heroes and got another dimension to his talent when he worked under ilayaraja for Azhagi and that song that drove home the point to the critics that he is an entity in tamil music who was gonna stay , and not the ephemeral blip .

Now about the various facets to his voice , he excels in almost any song he's been entrusted with.Be it bringing the roof down or soft melodies. Just take the song in Azhagi ( melody that wud remain in hearts forever) or the fast paced Gf song in Boys. From Hindustani in anarkali(kangalal kaidhu sei ) to the carnatic or even the dappanguthu(in Run with theradi veethiyil) .( and i ve been off my heels for his voice in "oru malai" in gajini and "kangal kalangida" in oru kalluriyin kadhai). He also can modify his voice at ease , an area where SPB excelled . And the pivotal aspect of his singing is his impeccable pronunciation of the language be it tamil , telugu, hindi, or kannada.

And most of all i feel his voice has the life that is the quintessential factor for a singer to stay in ur hearts even after he is not there . An artist stays within us when he isnt with us in the form of his art . Well if karthik could only add a few varieties of songs to his basket , i feel there is not stopping this young kid as he is all ready to take the country by storm with his voice .

Hey "baby"

I don't know what it is about babies...and on a totally different subject...I don't know what it is about the cute relaionship "baby" talk.

I must say though...I've begun to find it so funny how we do "baby" one another..once the much puppy sets in ..on...shall we say a relationship.

I almost feel bad for that cute adorable baby in the cerelac commercial..or the one in the jhonson's baby commercials...because while they're obviously cute...again..in a totally different way,..the fact is we tend to call both the infants...and the.. uhh, shall we say...our honry lil partners...the exact same thing!

"Hey baby, Good mornning baby..."...and the more Joey.. "how ya doing..baby" kinda gag. And if our lil' infant in the midst of all this realised that unfortunately...he and our ."other grown baby" are refered to as the same thing...lets just say..those diapers would be a lot more loaded out of pure spite!

The next time around you're coochie cooing, baby talking, make sure there isn't infact a real baby in the room. Poor thing... don't want them to find out grown ups are so twisted! Not so...soon atleast..!

hehe!

ok..gotta go...see you around baby!

Life at an appliacation layer

Have been getting feedbacks about not writing anything phylosophical in the blogs. So i'll jus start away with one. A major inspiration to my post would be my prof at college who just cant teach the subject without a real life mapping about the topic. If u havent got what i said ,just go ahead and read the post, u ll understand it urself.

Life when looked from the uppermost layer would be enjoyable and easy to understand, something like the application layer in the network layers.Like it doesnt take a lot of ur grey energy to understand the email that is in plain english and needs just a prior knowledge of english. But similar to the analogy as u go deep and deep into either life or the layers , obscurity slaps you ruthlessly.

The more u try to know about life , the more u feel u dont know. Just imagine if u were in the bottommost layer of the network layers and u just see the 1's and 0's passing across , how many of us can actually decode the meaning . The same holds good even for life , when u try to go the root, the more obscure it gets. Yes there are people who understand that , but the number is miniscule compared the ones who dont make sense of it.

Stayin at the upper surface may not satisfy ur quest to know more about life, but will make ur stay on earth enjoyable.

Think i have kept this post SUCCINT (so as to not bore the readers)

Energy crisis

U wont see a newspaper in india that doesnt carry an information abt the N deal that India and US finalised. Well i d like to aggregate a few things i have read and learnt abt this issue over the years.
India on the ground level is very thermal intensive energy production, and cant boast of a lot of hydrocarbons and nuclear fuel. India hence is a major importer of oil , from the middle east.

Now staying with the oil , how many of us know that Russia is the biggest producer of oil.But due its strategic location to the poles, burns most of its oil to keep itself warm. This also makes it consume most of the oil it produces. Next as we all know is the Saudi and then Iran. Saudi has been an US ally for most of its history , and with the turkey as the fulcrum , US drives its quest for fuel. Iran and US have been on loggergheads since the time i have been reading the papers over the nuclear issue.

If u wud ask me who wud be a reliable long term energy partner Iran or US , i d say neither!!
i'll delineate y .
India has been buying oil from the middle east for decades now . Iran also has the 3rd largest reserve of nuclear fuel. But Iran also boasts of political anarchy. So India always ends up paying the price for fuel they ask us to(due to political instability and change of power). And Iran lacks the infrastructure to capture the natural Gas. So when the plan for the Iran pipeline went ahead , US had to play the Big brother and intervene to say that" if we invade iran then the safety of the pipeline isnt our responsibilty". This put India onto the backfoot, cuz Iran hasnt been conforming to the IAEA , and its imminent that US attacks Iran, and cant afford to lose billions of money for this.

So if india were to look at US as the strategic partner , for nuclear fuel, the congress(US) seems to have a problem. But India desparatly needs N fuel , or otherwise the N weapons would decay if not kept running. So presently US is the only source for N fuel for india.
The hook wud be that India has to get the weapons under the purview of the IAEA , adn if this is done, india wud lose the millitary secrets and all of them wud be exposed which wud be a threat to the national security.

How India is going to deal with the Unreliable partners is what will test the diplomatic mantle of the ruling party !!

POLICE

P
(rotection) O(f) L(aw) I(n) C(ivil) E(stablishments)
Police these days has becomes synonymous with atrocious activities and an epitome of immoral behaviour. From the Jessica's tampering with evidence to the loads of money recovered from the bangalore police , the image of Poilce has taken a beating.I and most of us would agree that police more or less these days has very unethical mode of action and neither of us would barge into a police station cuz we fear losing more after entering ,than before .All said and done i am not going to blog about the cliche " how bad the police are ", but would like to point out a few positives that i find in the police.

The first and the foremost i feel that Police are the only wing of the indian executive service that havent gone on a huge nation wide strike . We have seen the food and civil supplies, the postal etc go on strike but never has the police done such an act. If done, the knock-on-effects are better not mentioned.

Then we just had the controversy where the doctor files a suit against the name of VasoolrajaMBBS , that it was depracating the social status of the doctors. Then the Lawyers went on the same lines about their professions being showed in bad light in "SIVAKASI". But how many times hasnt the Police faced such a situations on screen. From the early 80 s till the movies that enter the boxes today , have atleast a farce on the police and the policemen. But the Police seems to have taken it in good spirit.

They have night duties where they cant spend with their loved ones (i mean the sincere breed of officers). And the police plays a phenomenal role in maintaining the Law and order of the country.

There are a lot of unscrupulous officers but , taking all the credit away would be only next to what they commit. You do have a good number of ppl who wanna accomplish .
finally "THEY WAKE SO THAT U CAN SLEEP IN PEACE "
